Asymbiotic Orchid Seed Flasking: 3-Part Video Series

Orchid seed flasking is the process of growing orchids from the seed. In the wild, orchid seed require a symbiotic mycorrhizal fungus to germinate. This is something that wasn't discovered until 1909 - prior to this growing orchids from seedlings was impossible.

Nowadays, germination of orchid seeds at home can be performed using mycorrhizal fungus (symbiotic germination) or by using just the chemicals and nutrients the fungus provides (asymbiotic germination).

The three part video series below by Root 66 Nursery explains how to perform asymbiotic orchid flasking.
